Ministers and Missionaries
Who cares for the caretakers? Where does the pastor go for confidential help with a personal, marital, or family crisis?
Ministers and their spouses and children are welcomed with open and confidential arms at EMERGE. Hundreds of them see an EMERGE therapist specially trained to minister to their unique needs every year.
- The Department of Clinical Ministries to Ministers and Missionaries was established in 1989 and is under the direction of Rev. Wayne Taylor, a mental health professional who also has several years of pastoral experience.
- The Broken Heart Fund underwrites mental health care for full-time ministry families in crisis: pastors, full-time evangelists, and missionaries, so that no one is ever turned away because of inability to pay for services.
- Inexpensive, temporary lodging is offered nearby (on a space-available basis) for out-of-town ministry families.
- Several appointments are generally scheduled over a period of a few days for out-of-town clients, and "homework" assignments accompany them back home-to be completed before the next visit to EMERGE.
